[ mood | bored ]

My name is Susan and I, too, live in Assville, or as it's known around here, Fairmount, Indiana. We have a diner, some antique stores, and a couple of bars. And James Dean lived here. I graduated with 80-some other kids from Fairmount and other local Assvilles (Summitville, Hackleman and Point Isabel to name a few) from a high school, literally, surrounded by corn fields.
Yeah...pretty not exciting.

Bow, NH [13 Feb 2006|04:35pm]

[ mood | bored ]

Hello! I'm Stephi, 19, taking the year off from college, and I live in Bow, NH. Some of the bigger events happen while you're in the high school (just hitting almost 800 students). Such as plays, musicals, sports events, concert, student project...etc.

However, when you are out of High School such as I or not in attendance to these events you have a several unappealing options:

1) Go home.
2) Go the "mall" in Concord (10 minutes away)
3) Go the the mall in Manchester (45 minutes away)
4) If it's after 9pm go to the 24 hour Wal Mart in Concord and walk around
5) Go to one of two theatres in Concord (Regal and "the ghetto theatre").

Bow consists of an elementary school, middle school, high school, housing, and a Mobile referred to as "the famous Bow Mobile" Oh, and a Bank right on the line to Concord.

I'd say more, but there is so much to say that I'll save it for future posts. :)

Major Ass-ville [06 Feb 2006|07:06pm]

[ mood | aggravated ]

Oh, hi. Yes, I live in a certain assville lakeport. There is nothing to do here. We go and try to see movies that aren't here, rome around k-mart, sit in bored nothingness. Our "mall" consits of thrift stores and pest control. I think my life became the internet when I came here, becuase the internet is the only life to have.

Are all small towns homophobic? Or is this only in my town?

Because everyone is in an uproar about the Applebee's comment... [06 Feb 2006|12:41am]

Applebee's, firstly, is in Courtland. It's not even in Mahopac, and we (meaning my friends and I) usually end up there or at Barnes and Noble. That's how evil and small and boring our town is! Our main hangout isn't even in Mahopac.
Secondly, because all of you in here are from Mahopac anyway...

Join MTA R Us today (and don't forget to check out ljidol2 as well)!  It's a pretty accurate representation of exactly how much of a small town Mahopac is. This is what we do with our free time, people.

Erm. Hello. [05 Feb 2006|07:58pm]

Hello. My name is Kristina, and I live in assville. Some people [such as Kevin Muller] may argue that no, indeed, we do not live in assville.
This, however, is simply untrue. We totally live in assville.
There's nothing to do here but eat at Applebee's. And sleep. And go to the bar at Red Mills, which is sorta off limits because you can't even go in the bar unless you're 18.
Which I am.
But that's another story...

So. I live in assville. Don't you?

Amusement. [28 Jan 2006|12:32pm]

[ mood | curious ]

Yesterday I spent the day in my local diner and going to a friend's house for a marathon.

What do you all do for amusement in your small towns?

First post! [26 Jan 2006|10:41pm]

Hi all, and welcome to Assville! Feel free to join and post away about your small effing town and vent your frustrations!!

I am Mary, the creator of this community. I happen to live in a very, VERY small New York suburb known as "Mahopac" to some, "Assville" to others (the community derrived its name from that one!). How small is Mahopac, would you say? Well, this has been the big news story...of the millenium...here:

Yeah. That is a moose, and everyone knows about it. EVERYONE. No one can stop talking about it, they're obsessed! People are so fascinated by the thing that they take MULTIPLE PICTURES OF IT!

...well, this *is* a small town, so most people don't have anything better to do.

Anyway, welcome all! This'll be a great community.
